COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Scheduling Update
March 19, 2021
This update is to announce a change to Jefferson County Health Center’s COVID-19 vaccine scheduling process.
Jefferson County Health Center (JCHC) continues to receive distributions of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine from Jefferson County Public Health. Since February, we have been proactively identifying and contacting individuals within the community for vaccination appointments, using state of Iowa guidelines and the COVID-19 risk score established by University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
As vaccination efforts continue to evolve within the state, we are changing this process to more effectively serve and vaccinate our community. Effective Tuesday, March 23, JCHC’s COVID hotline will be open on Tuesdays from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. to schedule vaccination appointments. The hotline number is 641-469-4180.
Vaccine distributions may vary from week-to-week, and appointments are scheduled as calls are received. Appointments will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis until they are filled for the week. If you call for an appointment and all available slots are filled, we encourage you to call again on the following Tuesday.
Iowans currently eligible for vaccination include all adults age 65 and older; and adults age 18-64 with comorbidities, or high-risk factors.
For the latest COVID-19 related information, we will continue to communicate through the JCHC Facebook page, our website, and KMCD/Classic 96.
