-Meth is a highly addictive drug that can be made from ingredients used in batteries, drain cleaner, fertilizer and other hazardous chemicals.
-Meth use among 15-24 year-olds has risen over the past 5 years. Stud-ies have shown those who perceive the use of meth to be dangerous are less likely to use. Over the past decade fewer Iowa youth perceive meth as risky or dangerous.
-Meth IS DANGEROUS. It can cause brain damage, hallucinations, repetitive involuntary movements, aggression and severe mood swings. Plus, meth is not always what it seems. About 60% of meth includes lead acetate, mercury or other poisons. Many time it is also laced with other drugs such as heroine, morphine or fentanyl.
-There are 8 times more meth-related deaths now than there were in 2011.
