Press Release: JCHC Welcomes New Providers to Serve Ottumwa Community

Fairfield, Iowa – Jefferson County Health Center (JCHC) is pleased to announce the addition of two new family practice providers, Heather Easton, ARNP-C, and Shelbi Dexter, MSN, ARNP, FNP-C, who will begin seeing patients at the new JCHC Clinic | Ottumwa this April. 

Their arrival marks an important step in expanding access to high-quality, patient-centered care in the Ottumwa community as JCHC continues to grow its regional presence. 

Heather Easton brings more than 13 years of experience in family-focused primary care, with a strong emphasis on preventive care, chronic disease management, and patient-centered outcomes. She is known for her collaborative approach, taking time to listen and ensure patients feel informed and supported in their care decisions.  

Shelbi Dexter, a family nurse practitioner with a passion for whole-person care, focuses on identifying the root causes of patient concerns while building strong, trusting relationships. She has experience in family practice, weight management, and community-based care initiatives, and is deeply invested in serving the Ottumwa community she calls home.

Community members will have the opportunity to meet both providers during the JCHC Clinic | Ottumwa Open House on Tuesday, April 14, beginning at 5:00 pm at 1000 Wildwood Drive.  

The JCHC Clinic | Ottumwa will officially open to patients on Monday, April 20, with appointments now being scheduled. Patients can call 641-215-8201 to schedule an appointment.
