Shelbi Dexter has been working in healthcare since 2011, beginning her career as a nurse. Her experience includes emergency care, one-day surgery, medical-surgical, pediatrics, podiatry, and clinical settings, giving her a well-rounded background in patient care. She now specializes in family practice. Outside of work, Shelbi enjoys spending time with her husband and three children and stays actively involved in both the medical community through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Iowa Nurse Practitioner Society, and the Ottumwa community through her service on the Historic Preservation Commission and volunteer work with Main Street Ottumwa.
